Mesmerizing Monet (Go See It!)
From now until September 15th, there’s an absolutely fabulous art exhibit at the Kimbell Art Museum in Ft. Worth, TX featuring paintings from the Late Years of Claude Monet.
If you’re a big fan of impressionism (like I am), it’s worth a trip to Ft. Worth to see it!
It was fascinating to see how Monet’s painting style changed over time. It could have been due to his eyesight worsening or grief over the loss of his wife and son or the impact of the war on the world around him.
The exhibit was a beautiful reminder that life circumstances impact our art.
Yep, when I got home I just had to set up my easel to paint outside. I may not have a giant garden as Monet did, but there’s one teensy little water lily in our koi pond
that’s calling my name!

I loved seeing Monet’s signature and the energetic brush strokes in his work. From a distance you can make out scenes and objects, but up close, the strokes and colors appear pretty chaotic.
It’s a visual reminder that the LORD, my Master Artist, is at work on the masterpiece of my life. Sometimes my time view of the big picture may look jumbled and crazy, but I can trust He is always up to something good in me and for me. Always.
