Do you have a favorite Old Testament character? Mephibosheth is mine. I think it’s because I see so much of myself in his story.
He was crippled by a fall, unable to save himself, and hiding out in fear when, one day, the unthinkable happens. King David not only seeks him out, but restores his inheritance and extends a gracious, merciful invitation to join his family by sitting at his table. Mephibosheth’s perceived mortal enemy was actually his mighty deliverer!
Read Mephibosheth’s beautiful story for yourself in 2 Samuel 4:4 and 2 Samuel 9:1-13.
